Papertools Has Evolved: From Free Browser Tools to a Complete Small Business Workspace

Papertools Has Evolved
In September 2025, OneStopCentre introduced PaperTools.io as a collection of free browser-based tools for creating invoices, estimates, receipts and orders.
It started with a simple idea: small-business owners should not need expensive or complicated software just to prepare professional paperwork.
That original idea has grown into something much bigger.
PaperTools.io has evolved into Papertools, a connected workspace designed to help small businesses manage the everyday paperwork that continues after a document has been created.
Papertools now lives at papertools.app and brings estimates, invoices, customers, bills, expenses, receipts, payments, projects and business records together in one organised place.

Why the Original Tools Needed to Evolve
The original browser tools solved an immediate problem.
A business owner could open a tool, prepare an invoice or estimate, download the document and send it to a customer.
But creating a document is only one part of running a business.
Owners also need to:
-
save customer and supplier details
-
know which estimates are still awaiting approval
-
see which invoices are sent, paid or overdue
-
record bills and expenses
-
attach receipts and supporting documents
-
record full or partial payments
-
keep projects and related paperwork connected
-
understand what needs attention next
-
return later without rebuilding everything from the beginning
The more we looked at the real workflow, the clearer the opportunity became.
Small businesses did not simply need more document generators.
They needed a calm place to manage the paperwork side of the business.
From Standalone Tools to One Connected Workspace
Papertools carries forward the simplicity of the original project, but the platform now supports ongoing business activity rather than one document at a time.
| Original PaperTools.io | Papertools today |
|---|---|
| Individual browser generators | One connected business workspace |
| No saved account or history | Secure account with saved business records |
| Create and download one document | Create, send, track and manage documents |
| Re-enter customer details each time | Save customers and reuse their details |
| Separate invoice, estimate and receipt tools | Connected estimates, invoices, payments and receipts |
| No ongoing status tracking | Draft, sent, accepted, paid and overdue visibility |
| Basic standalone experience | Dashboard, reports, projects and supporting files |
| Free browser utilities | Free Essential plan with optional paid upgrades |
This evolution means owners can begin with an enquiry, prepare an estimate, send it to the customer, receive approval, turn it into an invoice, record payment and keep the entire history connected.
What You Can Manage with Papertools
Estimates and Customer Approval
Create professional estimates with customer details, products or services, pricing, tax and payment terms.
Send estimates by email, WhatsApp, a share function or a copyable link. Customers can review and approve them online, and accepted estimates can move directly into invoicing.
Invoices and Payments
Create and send branded invoices, monitor their status and record full or partial payments.
Customers can also pay online when the business connects its own Stripe account.
Customers, Vendors and Products
Save the people and businesses you work with once, then reuse their information across future paperwork.
Products and services can also be saved so common items do not need to be entered repeatedly.
Bills, Expenses and Receipts
Record money going out as well as money coming in.
Keep supplier bills, expenses, receipts and supporting files organised so important records are easier to retrieve later.
Projects and Business Records
Connect relevant documents and costs to projects rather than leaving information scattered across inboxes, folders and spreadsheets.
Dashboard and Reports
See outstanding amounts, recent activity, cash movement and the records that require attention.
Papertools helps owners understand the operational picture without turning the experience into a complicated accounting platform.
The live platform currently supports a free Essential plan without a credit card, plus Business and Enterprise options for businesses requiring increased limits, additional members and advanced workflows. (Papertools)
Run the Business — Leave the Accounting to the Accountant
Papertools is not designed to replace accountants or bookkeepers.
The owner uses Papertools for the everyday work:
-
customers and contacts
-
estimates and approvals
-
invoices and payments
-
bills and expenses
-
receipts and supporting records
-
projects and operational visibility
The accountant or bookkeeper continues to handle specialist work such as:
-
reconciliation
-
accounting treatment
-
BAS and tax obligations
-
financial statements
-
year-end adjustments
-
professional accounting and compliance advice
Papertools helps keep the records organised between the work and the books.

Papertools’ current positioning deliberately separates daily business administration from specialist accounting responsibilities. (Papertools)
What Has Not Changed
Although the product has evolved, the original mission remains.
Both OneStopCentre and Papertools exist to help people avoid starting from scratch.
OneStopCentre provides editable templates for work, life and business.
Papertools provides an ongoing software workspace for businesses that need to create, organise, send and track everyday paperwork.
Papertools is from the team behind OneStopCentre, and both brands share the same goal:
Make useful business tools simpler, more practical and easier to access.
Who Papertools Is Built For
Papertools can support many types of small and owner-operated businesses, including:
-
electricians and plumbers
-
landscapers and pool-service businesses
-
cleaners and pressure-washing businesses
-
builders and mobile trades
-
consultants and freelancers
-
cafes and service businesses
-
side businesses preparing to grow
-
owners currently using Word, Canva, spreadsheets and email for paperwork
The platform is especially useful for businesses that need more organisation than a basic invoice maker provides but do not want the complexity of using a full accounting system for every daily task.
Start with the Free Essential Plan
Papertools can be opened in a browser and installed as a web app on supported desktop and mobile devices.
The Essential plan is free to begin and does not require a credit card. Businesses can upgrade when they require greater capacity, more team members or advanced workflows. (Papertools)

The Next Chapter
The original PaperTools.io experiment showed that small-business owners wanted paperwork tools that felt simpler and more accessible.
Papertools is the next chapter of that idea.
It is no longer only about creating one invoice or receipt.
It is about helping owners keep the everyday paperwork connected, understand what needs attention and return their focus to the work that moves the business forward.
Run your business. Leave the accounting to your accountant.
Less paperwork. More control.
